Finding Good Bank Deals

Finding good bank deals can be hard, but there are some places you really should look.

If you need a new bank, the best bank for you may be a local credit union. Credit unions are practically non profit (or for member profit), so overdraft fees and interest rates are usually significantly lower. If your in the market for a new bank, check with your local credit unions.

You might also want to check for bank deals at http://bank-deals.blogspot.com. They post a lot of great bank deals, as does ibankdesign.com

A friend and I have spent the lsat 6 months building a site that is going to revolutionize the way fishing reports are shared amongst angler. In the past, guides have posted fishing reports at local restaurants and tackle shops, but we are looking to change that. Halo 3 Beta Code is gonnee

I know how it can be to be young and be stuck waiting for something to come out. I've waited so long for Halo 3 and now that it's here, I really don't want to play it as much as I thought I would. But the point is that anticipation is a bi***.

To the guy who said his friend had a court date at 2: as much as I would love to give it to you so you can hit some halo 3 before court, if I were in your shoes I would go pick up a copy of Crackdown and get the download code from it.. and I would have done it last night. I'm 20 years old, I don't wake up until 12pm.

Reading Michaels comment reminded me of that episode of Southpark where Cartman froze himself so that he could be un-frozen when the Wii finally came out. Being ounger you can't just go spend $60 on a video game so that you can play ANOTHER video game, but most the rest of you probably could.

Oscar De La Hoya vs Floyd Mayweather - $5000 to show fight

So I was at Twin Peaks (it's kind of like Hooters), and one of the employees went to order the Oscar De La Hoya Vs Mayweather fight on Pay Per View. Instead of paying $50 for the fight, Pay Per View wanted $5,000 for Twin Peaks to show the fight in the restaurant.

I have never heard of such high prices for PPV, as I have watched many fights and UFC events in restaurants and bars other than Twin Peaks and they have only paid $50 to be able to show the fight.

Now, I may be wrong and this may be the going price when Pay Per View knows you are a bar or restaurant, and the other places I have gone just weren't noted as a restaurant or bar in PPV's system, but that price is totally outrageous.

When people order a fight on PPV, they usually invite at least 4 or 5 other people to watch the fight making the cost $10 or so a person.

By charging $5,000 for Twin Peaks to show the fight, it would assume that Twin Peaks would have at least 100 people watching the fight, at $50 a head. Screw That ridiculous price!

How to build my credit?

I have no credit history and recently tried to get a credit card from Bank of America WITH a cosigner. I filled the application out online and was denied. I then tried to get a gas card from Shell, and was again denied. I am at a loss as to how I could build my credit if I can't even get a gas card. If you were in my shoes, what would you do?

I thought about a secured credit card (the ones where you borrow against your own money) but I heard those really suck so before I do that I want to see what my other options would be. I rent a house with my brother, his girlfriend, and another room mate. The utilities and lease is not in our name (long story), and it wouldn't be possible to get the utilities in my name.

So what can I do to build my credit history? I'm going to request my credit report from equifax (sp?) and make sure nothing bad is on there, but as far as I know I should not have bad credit or anything on my credit report.

So I robbed a spare computer for a sweet P4 and motherboard which is going to replace my old motherboard and CPU...

And no my walls are not baby blue... there not even blue.. can only send 640xwhatever resolution from my phone to my album . Oh and for anyone reading this who remembers my old setup you can see my desk shrunk to about 1/3 the size of my old desk

I'll have this setup hopefully tomorrow when I get my XP pro cd and my dad's 300 gig backup HD back over here so I can move my entire hd over to the backup before reinstalling windows. I was going to just partition my HD and install windows on the partition but I discovered I had managed to actually collect about 90 gigs of crap onto the hard drive. I remember just a couple years ago I had to struggle to fill half a 60 gig hd.

I am obsessive about the crap I have on my HD, I have 3 or 4 hard drives sitting in my room because I somehow think that I may one day need something on one of those old hard drives from half a decade ago.

Anyways, I'm too drunk for this crap. I can not wait to get this desktop back so I can redesign this spot, pop a spot for the guys aaron talked to me about, and get my new 4 letter domain developed ( mmm 4 letter domains are the new 3 letter domains ;-) )... Not to mention making some ends. Living off of $10/hr playing customer service isn't cutting it.

Cost to rebuild a boat motor

Anyone have any idea how much it costs to rebuild a boat motor? I'm looking at getting a 16 ft jon boat this weekend and there's also a nice 17 ft tri hull that i could get for nearly free, it just needs a rebuilt motor? Has anyone ever priced rebuilding a boat motor (whether having it done for you, or doing it yourself)? I know I could easily pick up a used motor for under>$1000 but if I could rebuild it myself and with some help it could be worth it for a more lake worthy boat...

Halo 2 Sniper Cheat

My friend and I got on Halo 2 last night playing snipers... it seems like every time we found a matchmaking game 2-3 people on the other team instantly quit... What people are doing in snipers now (more than ever) is buying two to three extra xbox live accounts and using these accounts to quit at the beginning of the game so that they and one of their friends can play two vs four< making it easier to win and for their rank to increase

im actually glad to see this happening> i was getting sick of people on my team killing themselves repeatedly to get the entire team to quit

New Virgin Mobile Phones

There are going to be 2 new Virgin Mobile Phones coming out next month in the US. They will be similar price wise and quality wise to the Switch_back and the Slider Sonic. I really don't want to say what they are just yet, but I can tell you that they are going to be good enough for me to not renew my T-Mobile contract next month.

If you have Virgin Mobile and you REALLY want to know what the 2 phones could possibly be, I recommend you go to virgin.com, then go to virgin mobile, and look at Virgin Mobiles international sites (canada and the UK primarily)... This will give you an idea of what phones Virgin Mobile USA could easily start selling, and may give you a hint as to what the new phones are. I will tell you that one will be a slider, and the other a flip phone geared towards the older generation.

Speaking of which, the Oystr is only 19.99 now without a freakin contract, so I'm thinking about getting a throw away phone to use for things where I don't want to give out my main phone number. Plus, if I order it online I'll get $20 of free airtime, making it a free phone.

lol so I work nights now at a call center for cell phone activations. we were talking about "why didn't i think of that" ideas the other day, and someone asked why there aren't TV's that you can page the remote control from. most of the time you can get a pager that will page the remote, but what if you loose the remote and the remote control pager controller? Like, why don't tv's have a button that you can press that will locate the remote control? I'm talking like you press a button and the remote starts beeping, or if your really cool the location of the remote shows up on the TV. I'm sure this already exists, just, why the hell doesn't my tv have this. I hate loosing my remote.

Okay, about a year ago me and a friend started a site that listed places that were open late. We were both really, really broke and my friend couldn't come up with his share of hosting and so we lost the hosting. Someone deleted the database backup off my desktop so we were really screwed and lost 500 places we had manually added.

If your quick, and smart, you could easily throw together a site like we were doing.

Everything is going 24 hours, and with so many people working late, a place that shows them places open late in their zip code is very, very valuable. We started the site because we were ALWAYS looking for places open late to hang out, and mainly, get some freakin grub.

Here are some sites that jacked us (they came 2-4 months after our site shut down)

gophernow.com (good implementation, but looks like spam, limited areas)

ilate.org (their a joke)

So, if your looking at making a site that could be huge in the next 2-5 years, go do it. You can code it yourself, then hire some people overseas (from digitalpoint of course) to add places. Could probably pay under 50 cents to have places added. $5000 and your way bigger than those 2 sites, and trust me, "places open late in (insert city name here)" is searched a lot.

I always start projects with a certain person "cough cough", and we never end up finishing them due to new projects and schedule conflicts. So, every once in awhile when I get an idea that I am no longer going to work on, or don't feel like pursuing, I'm going to post it here.

The idea here is simple. Use Pligg (pligg.com) to make a web site gallery where web designers can go and view websites for inspiration. Now I know web site gallerys have been around forever, but none had a decent tagging system and all of them were like "site a day" or something stupid like that. The idea behind this is that only good sites will show up, they will stay at the top for awhile, and then fade away but still easily be found with the tagging system.

Shit, we may finish it one day, but we really didn't get that far on it. Probably 5 hours invested, without doing really anything to the interface that is significant. I'm sure someone could whip up a working version in 5 hours and call it a night, I really just don't have the time and the guy I started this project with is lazyy.

This is just one of millions of projects I have started and never finished. I figured someone might be able to take this and make some $$$ out of it, shouldn't be hard to promote via digg, reddit, and word of mouth.

Might not be worth pursuing for someone else either. You could easily use my method, or do something totally differnt. But please, go do something. I'm sick of cssremix and all those other css only gallerys that only give you good examples of CSS blogs. When your designing websites for other people for under 2000 a pop, pure CSS doesn't make a fuck. Theres plenty of SEXY non-transitional non-standards compliant sites out there that would provide good inspiration.

How Tax Returns Works

My brother is going to school to become a CPA and we were talking yesterday about how tax returns really work. This time of year you see people bragging their butts off about their huge tax returns. The thing is, your getting your money back. The money your getting back is money you didn't have through out the year. Ideally, when you do your taxes at the end of the year, you will owe 50 dollars or get 50 dollars back.

You need to be bragging about getting back as little as possible at the end of the year when you do your taxes, or having to pay as little as possible when you do your tax return. Properly doing your deductions will give you more money through out the year, rather than a check for $10,000 at the end of the year because you didn't plan properly.

How to do your taxes properly? Consult an accountant or whoever does your taxes and figure out how you need to adjust your deductions.

New Halo 2 Maps Pack

The new halo 2 maps should be coming out the month after next (within the next month and a half) according to an email I got regarding halo 3 beta. All halo 3 beta testers will be receiving the new maps FOR FREE and 2 weeks before everyone else. So on the 22nd anyone who wants the new halo 2 maps should go buy crackdown and hope they get a halo 3 beta key so they can get a hold of these new maps.

Supposedly there will be 1 new small map, 2 medium size maps, and another coagulation size map in the new halo 2 map pack. Hopefully this new big map will actually get played in matchmaking. I can't freaking wait for this map pack.

Again, these mulitplayer maps will be ONLY for the XBOX 360.

Patching a hole in fiberglass or plastic

Can anyone recommend a method for patching a hole/rip in fiberglass and possibly plastic? I aquired a 10 foot bass buster but there is a hole in the fiberglass which I will need to patch. It need to be water tight but it doesn't have to be pretty..

Where do you get fiberglass mesh and resin? Someone told me laying down some mesh and then laying down resin on top of the mesh is the proper way to patch both fiberglass and plastic?

Any help will be appreciated :-)

Jon Boat to Bass Boat Conversion

Some people call these hydrilla gorillas, or just bass jon boats. Whatever you call them, their cool as hell.. What you do is take a jon boat (usually a 14 ft) and add a plywood deck and give it many of the amenities of a full size bass boat. I'm looking for my own 14-16 ft jon boat right now to build one myself.

As you can see on the hydrilla gorilla to the right, there has been a deck installed and pedistal seats added so you no longer have to sit on the metal spreaders. there is also a gas motor and rod and reel storage.

I really like this conversion when it is done to old v-hulls.

Redneck Pickup Truck Bed Trailer

I always see these things in the country, I don't know how they build these redneck truck bed trailers, but they look like total scrap in general. Someone offered me one for free (i'm currently looking for a utility trailer).. Unfortunately I had to decline.

Here we have some beautiful examples of a trailer being made from a pickup truck bed (or a pickup bed being made into a trailer):

Now, maybe it's because they didn't use the full bed or because of the huge tires, this bed trailer actually looks pretty cool.

How do you build a trailer out of a truck bed anyways? I guess since it's free or extremely cheap people are willing to figure out.
