Realcase.com making more than digitalpoint
InternetI just saw on johnchow.com that Realcase.com is now making more than digitalpoint.com. (Over $10,000 a month) Making them the 10th highest adsense earners.
The company's business strategy was simple, they bought an almost 14 year old domain name and than changed the sites focus to debt consolidation.
The company that previously owned the website was a software development company in the late 80's/early 90's. They claim to have aquired the dropped domain name from the TDNAM.com.
The age of the domain name, and the number of links to the site, contribute to the sites high rankings in google for many long tail debt consolidation keywords, and they claim that a single click can pay over $20.
The companys website appears to be nothing more than adsense ads, yet their content is highly optimized for google results, and they use a method called content rotation to achieve their high rankings.
Content rotation, they say, is the practice of phasing out all content through out the month. With every new post on the site, an old post is removed.
This is the first time I have heard of this practice, and it appears to be working for them. It's only a matter of time before we see more sites using this content rotation practice, or before google updates their algorithm.
USB Humping Dog
Internet
LOL! These things are awesome. The only downfall is I hear that they have no storage space at all. There's no on off switch either. You can see this in the video when they plug it in it just goes at it.
Does anyone know where to get these things? I've been seeing this video a lot lately but have yet to find my own USB humping dog.
Oh.. you know what would really be awesome? If they came out with one with some actual storage space, and the dog would only hump when data was being transfered or what not.
Free Blog Pinging Script like Pingoat
InternetAnyone interested in a free script like Pingoat.com? A friend and I were just talking about it and if there really is some interest in doing this we could have something out in 3-4 days. It's really not hard to do, it's just there's no mass pinging script like pingoat or those 400 other sites. The advantage of having this script is obvious. For example, if digitalpoint.com had a pinging script, I would probably use theirs instead of pingoat.
I know it's easy to add the places you want to ping yourself, but it's prettty obvious (http://alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?url=pingoat.com ) how popular pingoat is and how many people are using it. Offering a blog pinging service on your site would be very, very advantagious to a webmaster. Pinging blogs is very popular, and letting your users do it on your site would give you some more unique visitors and revenue.
If your interested in this, post up. Were going to talk a little more about it tomorrow and see if this gets and responses.
If there is a php/mysql script out there like pingoat, let me know. I didn't search very hard.
Blog Explosion Follow-up
Internet
I posted before about BlogExplosion and thought I would warn you guys that blogexplosion has more or less crashed. It took about 4 days to get my site approved, and I attempted to purchase traffic afterwards but they took to long to even credit my account so I canceled payment. Blog Explosion just plain sucks.
I earned about 60 visits to my site (visited like 20 sites, won 50 mystery credits)... This was over 2 weeks ago. Blog Explosion has only been able to send me 20 visitors THUS FAR... So if you expect to get traffic from blogexplosion, it's not happening. I feel sorry for those who buy 25,000 visits. It would take about 24 years for blog explosion to deliver 25,000 uniques.
The idea behind these sites is pretty lame. You could possibly gain a reader, but I think most of us are after clicks, not daily readers.
I'm guessing blogexplosion traffic would have a CTR of under .0005% (1 click per 2000 visitors from blogexplosion)... The visitors are simply waiting to go to the next site, they are not going to read anything or be attracted to context based ads...
If you want to buy traffic, stick to google adwords.
