Coming up pretty soon I may have a chance to go down to Florida on a Peacock Bass Fishing Trip. Of course, I will also be fishing for largemouth bass, but I really want to hook up with some of the Peacock bass that are stocked in Florida.

If you don't know what a Peacock Bass is, it is a VERY large chichlid found mainly in the Amazon River Basin and South America. Peacock bass can grow to be over 3 feet in length, and many people often believe that they are an actual bass, but as I mentioned above, Peacock bass are not actual bass, they are a chichlid. 

I know a couple people who have taken Peacock Bass fishing trips in Brazil and Venezuela, and they are, from what I hear, some of the best pound for pound fighters you can hook up with. 

Although I won't have a chance to hook up with one of the monsters found in the amazon, I will with a bit of luck be able to make it down to Florida on an upcoming business trip, and with a lot more luck I will be able to locate and hook up with a peacock bass.
