My girlfriends mom just called from Puerto Natales, Chilie and has said that the local news had reported that Ken Barnes ship was not spotted this afternoon by the search plane.

Ken Barnes is the American from Souther California who has been attempting a solo trip around the world since October of last year. His ship was damage in a storm (and his leg injured) found floating 300 miles off of Chile on Wednesday.

The plane had been keeping a close watch on Ken Barnes since he was spotted. They had said the ship was not at much risk of sinking, so hopefully he has just drifted out of view.

I'm honestly not sure what this means. There were no storms in that area today, and I know it has been said that his ship appeared to be in decent shape. I desperately hope that the search plane was unable to spot him due to the cloud cover and his boat is still floating out there somewhere. There was supposedly low visability and I'm sure they had to fly rather low, making it difficult to see a very wide area.

I haven't seen this on CNN or FOX yet, so hopefully I am not being redundant. I will post more information here when I get it.
