The new Ads By Google
General
I just saw the new Ads By Google for the first time, in which the Google (in Ads By Google) now is an image. I don't know
if I really like the new Ads By Google because it seems like they are just trying to force brand recognition on all sites displaying their ads. I feel that we should probably receive a PPM for displaying google ads with the "google" as an image. If this beta test results in all ads becoming like this, I will probably use Yahoo ads on all future sites.
I would like to see the CTR of the new ads, though, as that line under Ads by Google could easily make the upper text appear to be labeling something else, resulting in the ads looking like regular links and whatever above them appearing to be the ad, as you can see in the screen shot to the right. Either way it will be interesting to see what google has planned for the future of content sensitive ad delivery. I haven't heard much about these new ads and there is nothing on the Google Adsense blog (http://adsense.blogspot.com/). These ads will probably dissappear in a month just like the text ads with images next to them did.
I spotted this new ads by google on the Operation Letters To Santa site:
