E-books, get rich quick, work from home

General

Do people still fall for this crap? I've been browsing jobs on craigslist lately and about 1 out of 10 job listings are for a get rich quick scam or a work from home thing (after paying 29.99 for the training materials)...

I don't see how people can still fall for these things.. I see about 1-2 get rich quick scams a day while online, but I do browse a lot of forums. It just seems that get-rich-quick scams and work from home ads should be "day-one" on the internet, meaning you should realise these are fake on your first encounter with the internet.

E-books... It trips me out to see people on webmaster forums (sitepoint, digitalpoint) purchasing endless e-books. I see all kinds of IT people buying these E-books and most of them are low quality get rich quicks or have information that they found in a thread on the exact forum they are selling the E-book. People seem to rationalize purchasing E-books because they just assume whoever wrote it is a good author and actually has experience in what they are writing about.  (I mean come on, would a bad author write and sell an e-book? of course not...). SEO E-books, Google Adsense Get Rich Quick E-Books, it's ridiculous.

E-bay e-books are the funniest. "Install a lift kit on your jeep for $50", "How to gain 100 hp in 5 minutes", "Make a homemade snorkel for $20"... Do people honestly fall for this stuff still?
